Global markets ended the week with a selective risk-on tone, as equities and industrial metals outperformed while oil prices sold off sharply. TOPIX, the S&P 500 and CSI300 led gains among major equity indices, supported by easing Middle East risk premium and continued optimism around AI and chip-related stocks. At the same time, Brent crude fell sharply as markets priced lower supply-disruption risk, while major 10-year bond yields declined across the U.S., UK, Germany and Japan.

U.S. sector performance was heavily driven by growth and technology leadership. Information Technology strongly outperformed, helping lift the broader S&P 500 despite mixed sector breadth, while Materials, Consumer Discretionary and Industrials also posted gains. Energy was the clear laggard due to the oil price decline, and defensive sectors such as Consumer Staples, Utilities, Real Estate and Healthcare also weakened, pointing to a rotation away from safety and income-style sectors.

The chart of the week focuses on space-related stocks, which gained investor attention amid renewed speculation around a potential SpaceX IPO. The move has encouraged markets to reassess the broader space economy, including launch services, satellite communications, defense infrastructure and off-planet systems.
